Günstige und gute Lieferung. Die Boards und auch die Anzüge sind leider nicht wirklich gut! Neoprenanzüge lösen sich bereits auf bzw. haben sie Löcher. Der Bring- und Abholservice ist gut. About Ericeira Surfboard Rental

Ericeira Surfboard Rental is run by the two siblings Moa and Jonatan.

As passionate surfers, we moved to Ericeira nine years ago because we wanted to live somewhere we could surf regularly.

Before settling here, we travelled and surfed in different parts of the world, and one thing we often felt was that renting a surfboard could be surprisingly expensive, and sometimes even a bit risky and complicated. We always felt it should be easier than that.

When we moved to Ericeira, we opened a guesthouse, and the surfboard rental grew naturally from there as we started renting boards to guests and then to friends and other visitors.

Today, we mainly help beginner to intermediate surfers and try to keep things simple and flexible. We’ll point you toward the right board for your level and the local conditions, share advice on where to surf, and let you switch boards if you want to try something different.

How do I make a reservation for a surfboard?

Just send us a message on WhatsApp with your rental dates, surfing level, whether you need a wetsuit, and what kind of board you are looking for. If you’re not sure which board you need, that’s completely fine too. We can help you choose.

How much does it cost to rent a surfboard?

Soft top boards are €12 per day, or €17 with a wetsuit. Hard top boards are €15 per day, or €22 with a wetsuit.

What payment methods do you accept for surfboard rentals?

We accept cash, MB Way, and bank transfer. Payment details are confirmed when you make your reservation.

What types of surfboards do you offer?

We have soft tops and hard tops in different shapes and sizes.

Soft tops are usually the best choice for beginners or anyone looking for an easy, stable board. We also have hard tops, including mid-lengths and shorter boards, for improving and more experienced surfers.

If you’re unsure what to choose, tell us your level, height and weight and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Which surfboard should I rent?

For most beginners, we recommend a larger soft top because it gives you more stability, paddle power and makes catching waves easier.

Improving surfers may prefer a smaller soft top or a mid-length hard top. More experienced surfers can choose from our shorter hard tops and fish-style boards.

The right board also depends on the conditions, so we’re happy to recommend something based on your level and the surf that day.

Can beginners rent a surfboard?

Yes. Most of our customers are beginner to intermediate surfers.

If you have surfed before and are comfortable catching waves on your own, we can help you choose a suitable board.

If you have never surfed before, we would usually recommend taking a lesson first. We don’t offer lessons ourselves, but we can point you toward a local surf school.

Can I rent a surfboard for several days or for a group?

Yes. Multi-day and multiple-board rentals are very common, and we offer better rates for longer rentals and groups. Just tell us how many boards you need and for how long, and we’ll send you a quote.

What is included with the rental?

Your surfboard and leash are included.

You can also add a 4/3 front-zip wetsuit, and we can provide a soft roof rack free of charge if you need to carry the boards on your car.

For beginners, we can also provide surf booties at no extra charge, subject to size availability.

Can I switch boards during my rental?

Yes. You can switch boards during your rental at no extra charge.

This can be useful if the conditions change, if you realise another size would suit you better, or if you simply want to try a different board.

What happens if I damage the board?

For soft tops, we don’t charge extra for dings or even a broken board. We know accidents happen and we don’t want people stressing about every small knock.

For hard tops, we charge according to the actual cost of repairing the damage.

We just ask that you treat the equipment responsibly.

Can you deliver the boards?

Yes. Delivery around the Ericeira area costs €15, while delivery to the São Julião area costs €20. Both include pickup at the end of the rental.

You can also pick up your equipment for free from our storage in Ribamar.

Where do I pick up and return the surfboard?

Pickup is from our storage in Ribamar, around 7 minutes north of Ericeira. Just search for Ericeira Surfboard Rental on Google Maps.

At the end of the rental, you can return the board to the same place. If you booked delivery, we’ll arrange pickup from your location.

Can I change or extend my rental?

Yes. You can keep the board for as long as you want and decide day by day when to return it.

If you want to extend your rental, just send us a message on WhatsApp so we know you’re keeping the board longer.

Where should I surf in Ericeira?

That depends on your level, the swell, wind, and tide.

We know most of the breaks around Ericeira well, especially the spots north of town around Ribamar, and we’re happy to suggest somewhere that suits your level and the conditions that day.

If you’re unsure, just ask us when you book or pick up your board.

What if the waves are too big or difficult for my level?

Ask us.

Conditions around Ericeira can change quickly, and some spots are much more demanding than others. Your safety should always come first, so if the spot you had in mind doesn’t look suitable for your level, we can suggest an easier option or let you know if it would be better to wait for different conditions.

Do you offer surf lessons or coaching?

No, we focus on surfboard and wetsuit rental.

If you’re looking for lessons, we can point you toward a local surf school.
